Moving Images Relating to Intelligence and International Relations, 1947–1984

This series consists of films produced by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), films produced for the Agency by other government entities, and commercially produced films. The collection includes films relating to intelligence, military security, management, and training. The films cover many topics, including international relations, arms control, espionage, Vietnam War - related issues, the politics and history of China and the Soviet Union, and the Israel - Arab War of 1967. Also included are films exploring the U.S. space program; Western history, art, literature, culture, and religion; and issues related to espionage and surveillance. The films include footage of Mao Zedong, Idi Amin, Francois Duvalier, and Fidel Castro, and contain interviews with Zhou En Lai, CIA Inspector General Lyman Kirkpatrick, President Iosip Tito of Yugoslavia, and Premier Nikita Khrushchev. Some of the films have foreign language soundtracks in French, German, Polish, Russian, and Vietnamese.

Eugenie Moore Anderson was born in 1909 in Adair, Iowa, the daughter of Flora Belle Moore and Methodist minister Ezekiel Arrowsmith Moore. In pursuit of a musical career she studied at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. In 1929 she transferred to Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she met John Pierce Anderson from Red Wing, Minnesota.
